Aside from something tragically happening to a loved one or yourself, being terminated (or the fear of future termination) from a job is among the most devastating things that can happen to a person. Not only do we spend a significant percentage of our time at work, our jobs help us: provide for ourselves; provide for our families; provide us with medical care; provide our retirement; provide us the means to live out our purpose; and can directly affect our self-confidence. For these reasons, it is important for individuals to stand-up to illegal activity in the workplace. Federal laws protect employees against wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and other illegal actions taken by employers. Everyone has the right to earn a living free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
At Edwards & Edwards Attorneys and Mediators, PLLC we have passionately protected the rights of workers throughout central and northern Alabama for many years. We help workers fight back against discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, and violations of their protected rights. We have a thorough understanding of the federal laws, state laws, and federal case laws that protect workers by allowing them to recover damages after experiencing discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and FMLA violations. Let us stand up for your employee rights when the employment relationship has been corrupted.
If you feel your employer has treated you unfairly or illegally in accordance with laws against discrimination and harassment, please contact us. You may call, text, or fill out an online form to schedule an in-person, virtual appointment, or telephonic appointment.
